The emotional stress of losing:

The emotional stress of losing a parent I am extremely close to and then having to clean out her home of 27 years was an unbelievable task, especially since my mom lived in FL and I live in CT. My realtor referred me to The Estate Settlers and I have all great praise for what this company does. Harvey kept me posted every step of the way, sent pictures when the house was completely done, and was very sympathetic to my loss. I would HIGHLY recommend this company to anyone who needs assistance cleaning out a property. A 5-star thank you to this company!

My mother passed:

My mother passed away last week in Hospice. It was a difficult time and somehow my sister and I came across Estate Settlers, Harvey and Emily. Their professionalism, expertise, compassion and empathy were evident from the first call with Emily. Harvey came to meet me at my mother's and told what he could do but he also told me what I should not expect. The process was easy but that's not why I would recommend them. It is their humanity in a difficult time. Thanks guys. You made it all a bit easier for my family and me.

The Estate Settlers team is:

The Estate Settlers team is very responsive and cooperative. The nuances of guardianship create little hurdles along the way, and Estate Settlers rolled with delays and difficulties. They will handle as much or as little of a project as you want, and keep the lines of communication open throughout each job. I recommend Estate Settlers without reservation.

FAQ

Questions families ask us

If you don't see yours here, call or write. We'll answer honestly.

Do you buy furniture?
No, we do not buy furniture directly. However, we work with furniture buyers who are liquidators and specialize in buying and reselling. We earn a commission and an hourly fee for coordinating and meeting with these buyers. If you are considering hiring us solely to sell furniture, it might not be cost-effective unless we are also handling a complete home cleanout for you.
How much does it cost?
Our pricing varies depending on what's in your home. We offer a variety of options to fit your needs and budget. For more information, please schedule a free in-home consultation.
How can I contact you?
You can reach us by calling 561-207-7654 ext. 3, emailing info@theestatesettlers.com, or through our contact form below. We are always happy to answer your questions.
How far in advance do we need to begin the process?
The timeline depends on whether we are organizing the move for you. Typically, the entire process takes about 2 to 3 weeks from the time the resident has vacated the property. It's best to contact us as soon as possible to ensure a smooth and timely transition.
Are you a moving company?
We are not a moving company. However, we work closely with reputable movers and will coordinate the entire move for you. You can leave with just your toothbrush, unless you want it packed, of course!
Do you do estate sales?
We do not run estate sales. Many neighborhoods in Florida are managed by HOAs and Condo Associations, which usually do not allow estate sales. Instead, we bring in liquidators who specialize in buying and reselling items at various price levels.
About us

Our story, and the family behind it

The Estate Settlers has been family-owned since 2010, and every family we serve is helped by people who have been through their own life transitions.

Tina Segal and Allan Dessner, co-founders of The Estate Settlers
How it all began, 2010

Founded by Tina Segal & Allan Dessner

In 2010, The Estate Settlers was founded by Tina Segal and Allan Dessner. Tragically, Allan's life was cut short. To manage the overwhelming responsibilities of running the company, Tina's son Harvey stepped in to assist his mother alongside his work in the property and casualty insurance business.

As The Estate Settlers expanded, the need for a marketing specialist arose, prompting Harvey's wife Emily, with a background in Customer Service, to take on the marketing and customer experience side of the business. Since then, Tina has retired and is enjoying her well-deserved retirement.

In loving memory of Allan Dessner, co-founder.
